| Fanfare for the Common Man (arr. 1999) by Aaron Copland arr. by Charles Kim Katherine Keem, soprano To accompany the unveiling of the new Times Square Ball, the producers wanted to use an electronic version of Aaron Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man to symbolize the old and the newthe old through a traditonal American anthem and the new by the use of the latest technology to realize this piece. This arrangement by Charles Kim, was produced almost entirely on synthesizers and samplers with the exception of a vocal line sung by Peabody soprano, Katherine Keem.
